HOW DO WE LINK ICT FOR DEVELOPMENT (ICT4D) RESEARCH TO PRACTICE?
A DISCUSSION

This seminar will explore the role of social science research in ICT4D initiatives. Raul Roman will illustrate this topic with some cases studies and examples from his own work in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Participants will be asked to join the discussion around a key question: what are the conditions necessary to make social scientific research on ICT4D useful and relevant for program planning and policy making? Among other aspects, we will discuss obstacles and opportunities for universities in industrialized and developing countries to contribute to ICT4D efforts.
